Spring Sports

Birkely plays a lot of sports. When she came home, I wanted her to have the opportunity to try whatever she wanted to try. She has tried lots of things and enjoys many of them. But, soccer is her love. This spring season has been the one where she has grown the most as a player. Her coach knows his stuff (which isn't always the case in youth rec sports). I love ot watch her play. Before this spring, the games still just kind of consisted of kids chasign after the ball and kicking it. This spring, the games have looked like actual soccer with plays and teamwork. Over the course of this season, she has developed her sense of what is going on all over the field. She knows where the ball is in relation to all the other players. She is able to sort of see how a play could work out and anticipate when to steal or shoot. She has really gotten the hang of timing on the field. It is exciting to watch. The season will end soon. We both will be disappointed but excited for the next one.

Brynly started her sports career this spring. She was going to play soccer. But my bro-in-law was coaching t-ball. As that I am one person and cannot be in two places at one time, t-ball it was. She has had a blast. I have to admit watching a t-ball game is somewhat akin to watching paint dry. But, it is fun to see her hit and run and even dance or play with her hat in the outfield.

Of course, dance continues throughout the spring working up to the end of the year recital. They are both working hard on all their numbers and lookign forward to strutting their stuff onstage. Then it will be on to swim team.
